"TOGAAAA!!!"

Anyone seen National Lampoon's Animal House? I have ;)
Possibly the greatest movie about college ever made.

If you haven't seen it, you simply haven't lived. It made my year. Seriously.

It tells the story of Delta house, the worst house on campus as they stumble their way through college by cheating on tests, starting fights, and having crazy parties. This film makes me want to travel back to to pledge Delta...
Animal House wouldn't be nearly as good, however, if it wasn't for John Belushi (R.I.P.), he is genuinely amazing as a disgusting, drunk, carefree student.
You'll probably recognise Donald Sutherland, Karen Allen (Indiana Jones) and Kevin Bacon from other well known films.

My advice to you is WATCH IT.
It'll make you lol :')

"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb"

Ok so I've really neglected my blog, but i have been busy...oops. Am I forgiven?

I hope so because I want to tell you something...
I watched Eclipse :)

But, to be honest, I didn't enjoy it as much as I expected. Having read the books - and really enjoyed them - I was pretty disappointed by the first film. But seeing as the second (New Moon) had a different director I expected it to improve; which it did. My enjoyment may have been aided by erm....topless guys...

Sadly though, Eclipse was not to my liking. Yeah the fight scenes were pretty darn thrilling, but it was all a bit too intense and over the top. It was obviously aimed at teenage girls, and even though I fit that target audience, I was frustrated -I'm not so shallow that Taylor Lautner has to spend two thirds of the film topless in order for me to like it.
Also, Kristen Stewart's wig annoyed me, maybe I'm just being fussy, but it did. Also, how hard would it be for Bella to smille once in a while? Everyone loves her!

I'm not saying Eclipse was unbearable, it was bearable, but only due to me having read and adored the books. Anyone seen it and liked it? I'd love to hear your thoughts :D

"I see Cosplay people...all the time."

So I went to Comic Con at Earl's Court and REALLY enjoyed it. Comic Con is a sort of film convention with lots of stalls selling cool things and many, many comic/film nerds :D
But what was almost as fun as seeing famous people and buying stuff was seeing the costumes that the members of the public wore! Seriously, some were amazing, if a little weird...

Here are a few photos:

A guy dressed as Wonder Woman :/

Stormtroopers :)

Captain Jack Sparrow (one of two)

They stopped a car and pointed guns through the window :D

"Details of your incompetence do not interest me."

For this week only, I'm working at a magazine in the editing department, and so I've decided to list my top 5 movies that are about, well, working at a magazine. They're in no particular order by the way. Click the numbers to see the trailers.

Top 5 Magazine Related Movies:

1) The Devil Wears Prada - the first time I watched this, I enjoyed it. But after a second viewing, I wasn't so keen. There are a few laughs along the way but it isn't an amazing film.

2) 13 going on 30 - I really like this film; it's innocent and girly but it also teaches you a valuable life lesson: don't try and grow up too fast!

3) How to Lose Friends and Alienate People - Comedy genius, I love Simon Pegg :) Definintely watch this (but be warned, there's a dodgy scene with a trannie).

4) How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days - Ok so I'll admit it, I never watched the end of this film, but what I saw was actually rather hilarious. It's a really clever idea for a movie :D

5) Confessions of a Shopaholic - I quite liked this, it may have been silly at times and ever so slightly stereotypical towards women, but it was a fun film to watch with a group of friends.

Comments are appreciated :) honest.

"Let's take it to the limit one more time."

I realised yesterday, that I have never seen a film with the Academy Award Winner Jamie Foxx in. So, since I was babysitting and had some time on my hands, I watched Collateral and Miami Vice: both films with Jamie Foxx, both action films, both films directed by Michael Mann.

In Collateral, Jamie Foxx plays a dull taxi driver who ends up with a hitman (Tom Cruise) in his car who he's forced to drive round to each target's house. Some scenes are a bit slow and it can get a bit tedious, but the ending scene is way tense. It was so thrilling that I stopped texting and became properly engaged in the action onscreen.

Foxx's character in Miami Vice is a lot cooler - he plays a cop named Ricardo Tubbs. Tubbs and his partner Sonny Crocket (Colin Farrell) go undercover to help take down drugs traffickers from the inside. But Crocket gets a bit too involved and things get messy...

I enjoyed this more than Collateral, partly due to the storyline, but mainly because it is more visually stimulating and the scenes are more action packed (it helps that the music is great too). However I will admit to being a tad confused by the plot at times :S

"LICK ME! All of you!"

It's sex, drugs and rock and roll. It's Dazed and Confused. I recently watched it and LOVED it, it's very funny and extremely entertaining. I think it's the best thing since sliced bread, no joke.

It's about American teenagers in the 70s just after breaking up from school, they drink a lot of beer, they party, get in trouble, and they smoke some pot. But that's not all, it also has amazing music :)

The funniest (and cruelest) bit is watching senior students toture juniors. For the boys, it's beatings. And for the girl's, it's total embarrassment - it involves mustard.

I can't think of one bad thing to say about this film, just that it didn't last long enough. Seriously. Watch it...so long as you're 15 or over...

If you've seen it, let me know what you think please.

"Everybody loves me, and I intend to keep it that way."

If you're looking for a dark and witty comedy, Cruel Intentions is the film for you. The story of a Sebastian (Ryan Phillipe) and Kathryn (Sarah Michelle Gellar) - stepbrother and stepsister who take delight in other people's misery. Sebastian can charm any woman into bed with him and Kathryn knows exactly how to get what she wants, and what she wants is to destroy Cecile (Selma Blair). Sebastian however, grows tired of sleeping with multiple young girls - he wants a challenge. This 'challenge' comes in the form of Annette, (Reese Witherspoon) who has sworn to stay a virgin throughout her teenage years.

They're both manipulative and will stop at nothing to get their way; they work together to bring widespread unhappiness. You'll probably find yourself hating them, but at the same time wishing you could do that...

It's a dark comedy with plenty of shocking moments, but it is very enjoyable and would appeal to most people (rated 15).

If you like this film, you'll probably like Heathers and Pretty Persuasion - both of which I would recommend.

Enjoy!
